Dustin

I’ve known Dustin’s family for a long time.  I was so glad when his mom, Debbie, called to schedule his session.  We had a good time visiting and even though it was a little cold out, he had no trouble at all looking great!  It was really nice to see you guys again!  Here are some shots from Dustin’s session:

More from Hannah & Kalie - Seniors 2009

Last weekend was a BUSY one for senior sessions.  These girls are so fun to work with, we decided they needed 2 sessions.  They had a session back in the summer when the heat index was over 100 degrees!  Although you certainly couldn’t tell from their photos; they both stayed looking great even with the high temp!  But now that things have cooled off a bit - we were ready to roll again.  Besides, now they’ll have even more to choose from.  :)  Thanks, Kalie & Hannah!  Here a couple of shots from that day:

Mitchell - Senior 2009

I’ve been so busy with 2009 Seniors that I’m behind on my blog posting. Sorry you had to wait a couple extra days for these, Mitchell. The weather last Saturday was perfect - a little cool in the shady areas, but just great for a fall day. I’ve got lots more to come, but for now, here are some shots from Mitchell’s session:

A senior session for Miles…and a new direction for me!

Last Friday was a beautiful fall day, and perfect weather for Miles’ senior session. He brought the most awesome truck with him and we also managed to sneak in a couple of shots of him with his brothers. Thanks for a great session, guys! Here are a few of my favorite shots:

On another note, I’ve been busy revamping and redesigning things around here. I’ve heard from lots of you that it’s hard to remember my website address, and I’ve wanted to simplify things for a while. I’ll keep the old address and sites for awhile, but gradually you’ll see everything change over to www.michellruff.com. What’s easier than just my name? :) Another recent change going forward is that I’ll be limiting sessions to senior photography only. I’ve really enjoyed everyone I’ve met and all the fun sessions I’ve had over the past few years, but unfortunately, time is just in such short supply. I think the decision to focus my attention in the senior market will be a great thing for my clients, and will give me more time to pursue some of my personal photographic interests and charities. (One that I’m very proud to work with now is www.nilmdts.org.) I’m excited to see what the future holds!

Seniors 2009 - More on the way!

It’s that time of year - I’ll be posting several more seniors during the next few weeks… but up first is Kayley.  I remember her from when she was in elementary school; it’s so hard to believe it’s already time for this class to be seniors!  Last Saturday we found some interesting spots for shooting - and she never had to leave home!  I really enjoyed visiting with her family, too.  Thanks, Kayley!  Here are some of my favorites from her session:

Ballerina Gangsters?

Recently I had the best session ever with a beautiful group of girls.  I’ve always called these “Urban Petti” sessions, but thanks to Tori, I’ve got a better, new name -  “Ballerina Gangsters.”  Isn’t that great?  We got together on a Friday afternoon for some girly dress up good times - and I hope this was the most fun they’ve ever had while having their portraits made.  Of course, I can’t forget JJ - he was a good sport and came along so his mom could have a good shot of him, too.   I know she appreciated that!  After we finished up, we headed over to Dixie Cafe for dinner and more visiting.  Thanks everyone - I had a great time!!! Here are some of my favorite images from the session:

Erin

I had the best time this week with Erin for her senior session.  A friend of her family graciously offered her beautiful home, and the result was something I think she’ll really like.  Thanks Erin and Deana - I’ll have lots more to show you soon!

And baby makes three…

Cheryl and Eric are some of my favorite people in the world.  Many years and many prayers have passed in anticipation of this little bundle of joy.  We did a quick mini maternity session last Tuesday (the heat index was 107 degrees!) but we wanted to make sure we got some shots before their sweet baby girl arrived.  It’s a good thing, too.  Little Reece was so excited to get here that she came a few weeks early (and just 5 days after this session).  Talk about timing! Thanks, guys - and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Hannah & Kalie

Even though it was crazy hot outside for this senior session, these girls were awesome to work with - and had the greatest moms that would totally be the best photography assistants ever! They kept us cool and hydrated while we had a good time and got some beautiful images. (Of course, with girls like this - how could you not?) Thanks, Hannah, Kalie, Dianna, & Missy!

A Wedding Day

Recently I had the pleasure of sharing in the wedding day fun of Brittany and Dusty. She was absolutely stunning, he was handsome as could be - they are truly one beautiful couple. Add in some great weather, friends, family, and pretty location and it couldn’t help but be a wedding day that was meant to be. Congratulations Brittany and Dusty - and best wishes for a long and happy life together filled with love. Here are some of my favorite images from the day:
